Montpelier in Uproar

Right now the beautiful little town of Montpelier is in an uproar. Forced to decide between closing schools or firing teachers, the district chose the latter, with a recent vote. I don't know all the specifics of this situation, but it seems like they have to pick their poison. When child populations decline, there's less demand for teachers, and less demand for schools. To see either have to be scaled back is sad, but in this case it's apparently necessary.
