Before I take off for the weekend, I want to take a minute and honor all mothers. One day out of the year doesn't really offer enough of an opportunity to honor motherhood as we should. We often pay most attention to our politicians, business leaders, cultural icons, and pundits, but I want to say that I truly believe a segment of people has no greater sway over the future of our nation and world than that of our mothers. The work you do in raising, nurturing, and caring for the upcoming generations is incalculably valuable. You should be thanked, honored, and revered more than you are.
I had and have the blessing of a wonderful mother in my life. I'm grateful to see the wonderful mother my children have in my wife. The calling -- and it is a calling from God -- is a sacred and wonderful one. May all of you mothers have a wonderful weekend and Mothers Day.
