The Green Movement

Before I make my main point, let me be clear. I believe that we should recycle. I believe wind-generated power is cool. I also think we need to make sure we don't dump toxins into our rivers, and we should regulate the level of pollution we put into the air.

Now, having said that, I'm highly suspicious of the green movement. It's been around for a few decades, but has really gotten mainstream the last three or four years. I'm even starting to develop the "eco-guilt" complex that the movement generates.

Most participating in the movement are well-intentioned folks who I think probably want to help the planet. An extreme segment of the movement actually feels guilty for being human beings. Other segments of the movement have a big influence in the elementary schools, and are successfully passing along the message to the next generation.

I sense, however, a sinister side to the GM. I have a strong sense that we're being conditioned, that the elite have successfully shamed many into being green so they can be en vogue, and that we're being conditioned to allow others to make choices for us.

We have a lot to talk about and Wednesday's NLS will be all about this sinister side to the Green Movement. I'm not usually a tin-hat kinda guy, but I'm feeling a little conspiratorial on this environmental stuff.
