Teacher Fired

This is a sad but interesting story out of Pocatello. A middle school math teacher gets fired for not reporting behavior that apparently never happened. (I typed that correctly). Instead of reporting alleged inappropriate behavior by the school principal within a 24 hour period, Cindy Lovell had the girls write their allegations down. The Superintendent says Lovell coached the girls to say what they did.

An investigation cleared principal Douglas Reader of wrongdoing. I'm interested in knowing if there was some kind of vendetta issue going on, or what. Twenty-three accusers is a lot of accusers to get on board a vendetta.

I'm not going to get into a he-said-she routine here, but I'm wondering why Lovell wasn't fired for libel/slander and coaching the girls to write what they did -- as alleged by the administration. Instead she gets fired for not reporting non-existent inappropriate behavior. I don't know, and will never know, exactly what happened, but something seems odd about this story.
