I put on a lot of Interstate miles, so I've had the pleasure of driving on these slick roads this winter, and I've noticed that even when roads are slick, people continue to drive like the roads are bone dry. Now, if we hadn't seen a lot of accidents and slideoffs, I wouldn't have room to complain, but we've had hundreds locally over the last couple of months. On ADD Friday I'll examine the strange psychology (fourbyfourosis) behind these fast drivers. But strangely, there's another culprit on the icy roads, and that's people driving too slowly. In other words, everyone should go Nealspeed. And I'll tell you just what that is on ADD Friday! Don't miss it.

Are people driving too fast?

You're preaching to the choir. I lived in Idaho until I was 14, afterwhich my family moved to Alaska. It was in Alaska that I learned to drive in the snow. Snow that fell four times as much as it does here. I've always been frustrated with the drivers here, whether its summer, winter, Jefferson county or Bannock. Now that this bad driving has gotten to the point of risking my life, I'm a little frustrated. Since leaving Alaska a few years ago I have learned that Alaskan drivers aren't more talented than Idaho drivers, they are just smarter and much more courteous. This is my advice for whatever it's worth Old people, speed up. Pick-ups and teenagers, slow down. Jefferson County, stay home. Remember, cars these days are built with signal lights. And finally farmers, enough with the prayers for moisture. (hold off till spring)
